In Response To: portable AC (christine miller)

: my portable LG air conditioner ( LP1417GSR) was
: delivered by Fedex -today - box upside down
: !! does that mean the coolant is screwed up
: ? do i need to keep it right side up for 24
: hrs ?

Hi,

: does that mean the coolant is screwed up

Nope.
Won't hurt the refrigerant gas, but the oil can run out of the compressor and into the lines. Letting it stand uprite will allow this oil to drain back into the compressor.

: do i need to keep it right side up for 24 hrs

At a min yes. Normally we let things sit uprite for at least the same amount of time that it was on it's side or upside down. I would think 24-48 hours would be a good plan before you turn the unit on and test it.
