Kenmore Electronic Oven Control - Temp Too Low

Forrest -- Tuesday, 11 February 2003, at 3:59 p.m.

I'm new to electronic oven controls, so for that reason, maybe someone here could help me. I have Kenmore (Roper built) slide in stove (model 911.4652591) that has a digital oven control. When set at 350 the actual oven temp runs at about 270. Is there any way to calibrate this thing, or do I have a bad temp sensor probe or digital control unit? Someone told me that the digital oven control is non-adjustable and that it either works or it's dead, and it's definitely not dead. Where would you start in trying to fix the problem? Should I take a shot at replacing the $65 temp probe first or what?
Thanks!

Electronic controls can usually be adjusted a maximum of +/- 35°F (see the link below). If the temperature is out more than that, replacing the sensor or the control itself may be required.

That is where most technicians would start being that it is the most likely cause (and least expensive). If that didn't cure it, they would likely try a new control but a new sensor usually solves the problem in most cases. BTW. The sensor used on your model is a GE part number WB21X5301

How do I adjust the oven temperature on my range?
