Howdy,

Make?...model?...approx age?...a wee bit more info and someone may be able to offer some more specific info :)

-Loose belt
-Clutch assy
-Clothes caught between the tanks
-Poor draining
-Seizing bearing(s)
-Too much soap

Could all make for wet clothes a tthe end of the cycle.

Hi,

Your model# is missing a few digits...if this is a Whirlpool Direct Drive washer with a slow spin...possible trouble makers:
- something between the tanks
- clutch assy worn
- brake in the clutch not releasing
- worn motor coupler ( maybe )
- worn/loose hub and nut for the inner tub
There are bearings in the middle tube for the drive assy's...

Gail,
I had a similar problem with another Sears model a few years back. The lid needs to be closed for it to spin. It was a top loading model which had a little plastic tab attached to the inside of the lid. This tab fit down into a liitle slot in the machine and when the lid is closed, makes contact with the mechanism that enables the spin cycle to work. The tab had worn down so that there was no longer any contact. I ordered the part from Sears and I think it was under $2.00, and replaced it with just a small phillips screwdriver.
I'm not saying that your problem is this simple, but it's worth a try.

Good luck,
Rose

Hi Rose; thank you for your help.. it was not the lid switch.. but i have had that happen before.. when the lid switch failed the washer would not spin or drain AT ALL.. my problem was a worn clutch slipping too much; your help is much appreciated though..gail :)
