wall air conditioner

Chris Bilotti -- Saturday, 6 July 2002, at 4:25 p.m.

I run my a/c for about 7 Hours, facing the air conditioner the lower right corner ices up and the air flow is not strong or cold anymore. The a/c is 2 months old, it's a Friedrich wall master (12,000 btu).

You should remove the front grill and examine the evaporator (cooling coil). If it is partially frosting, with that age of air conditioner it is likely caused by being short of refrigerant and requires service.

Hopefully you didn't attempt to drill a drain hole in the bottom of it to help drain water or to secure during installation. 'Cause if you did, the repairs that will be necessary will not be covered by the unit's warranty.
