Magic Chef oven temp sensor failure

Tom -- Friday, 24 January 2003, at 10:26 a.m.

After 3 self-cleanings, fault code F3 appeared in display, Magic Chef smooth cooktop was purchased 3/99. Replaced temperature sensor, problem was corrected. question is will this happen after each three cleanings or is there something else wrong with the range?

To my knowledge there is nothing in a range that would cause the oven sensor to fail. When it does, it is usually just a defective part.

A self cleaning range should really be cleaned more than once a year. If you let it go too long, excessive fumes may be created, cleaning results may not be satisfactory or the clean cycle may need to be done for extended periods of time.

BTW. DON'T leave it to the last minute before an upcoming dinner either. More problems happen when cleaning an oven then just about any other time of its use. You probably don't want to be in a rush to get it fixed (if even possible on short notice)?
