Appliance411 Timely Tip!

I have a Kenmore gas range that I cannot figure out how to light the pilot light. The gas company was supposed to but they didn't and now they want to charge me $85 to do so! It must be easier than this! If someone could please write me back, it would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

Does it have pilot lights? Most newer models use some sort of electronic ignition system in which case there is no pilot to light.

the newer gas ranges use electronic ignitors. You have to have the range plugged into a 110 v outlet. The ignitor heats up, and the when its at the correct temp it allows the gas to flow which then lights the oven
