Admiral oven thermostat

Chris -- Monday, 13 January 2003, at 12:56 p.m.

I'm having trouble with the thermostat knob. Its very stiff to turn, almost impossible and geting worse! It seems like the thermostat is the ONLY component without any identifiable way of removing it from the back of the range - no obvious screws or retaining clips! How do I get it off? I can see a small screw set into the centre of axis of the thermostat (under the knob), but cannot get it to turn. Am I missing something?

There will usually be 2 screws from the front holding the thermostat in place. If there's a glass in front of the console panel, that glass would have to be removed first. The control itself would have to be removed from the range and installed from the back.

That is just a calibration screw and has nothing to do with the thermostat's mounting.
