: Could anyone help me out with this range. I'm
: guess it's an early 50's model
: The bottom element went out in the oven and I
: have fixed it for now by stretching the coil out.
By doing that, the element is now hotter than it was designed to be putting strain on other parts of the range and possible creating a fire hazard! Depending on how much you removed of the original element, it should really be replaced with a proper wattage element coil.
Replacement open coil (spring-like) oven element coils for older ranges are sometimes available at the site linked at the bottom of the page. See if there are any currently listed which you can use.
: I can't find any info on the web for
: the Monarch Electric range or pictures of
: it. I have been using it for 6yrs now ever
: since I tore it down and cleaned it up. It
: came from a farm house that was built in the
: 40's. That's about all I know
: Any help would be great, thanks.
I have heard that brand mentioned once or twice previously but don't know much about them. If you have a specific question (except about the manufacturer, which I don't know anything about) I'll try to answer it.

Maybe you can be the first?
