LP Conversion for Caloric Range

Joe French -- Thursday, 2 January 2003, at 9:23 a.m.

Caloric Model RLS363UL (1992) conversion process to LP from Nat. Have reversed plug on regulator, but flame still too strong. Cannot find manual or service lit. There is a note that the "hood" needs to be screwed all the way down, but I don't understand. Do the orifices have to be changed? None were hanging near the broiler unit. Thanks

The page linked below describes the general procedure for screwing down the hood on an oven gas valve. It may or may not apply to your specific model.

I don't know if on your model the orifices need to be changed or not. If they do, they will usually need to be purchased in a 'conversion kit' for that specific model. They do not usually come with the appliance when purchased new.

Caloric is owned by Amana, you can try contacting one of their authorized service depots or Amana them self with the model AND serial number of your range to see if such a kit is required for conversion.
