: Our MC gas oven has been slow to heat, and slow
: to re-heat after the oven door has opened.
That is often a sign of a weak oven ignitor. If it is slow to reach the proper resistance, it will delay the gas valve in supplying gas to the burner to cycle on again.
You can read about the most common gas oven ignition systems and the problems they can experience at the following link:

: Now we are getting F1 errors on the keypad,
: and beeping regardless of whether the range
: is in use. What does F1 mean? Having
: replaced the keypad a couple years ago, I'm
: hoping to avoid another expensive repair
: that doesn't last long. Any advice?
F1 usually indicates a problem in the keypad or electronic control. It is sometimes possible to determine which is which by disconnecting one from the other. If the beeping persists with the keypad disconnected, the control is usually the cause and likely needs to be replaced. If the beeping stops, the keypad is the likely cause.
I have been told that if the keypad is the cause, sometimes drying it with a hair dryer, etc. can sometimes eliminate the problem. If not, it would likely need to be replaced (again in your case). If needed, some keypads are available separately from the whole console panel (see the link below). That may save a little on the cost of repairs?
On models where the keypad and electronic control are one part, that whole unit would usually need to be replaced to eliminate the F1 code and beeping. :(
