If the alarm sounds and/or an error code displays, it means that there is a problem in the range that needs to be looked into. Just resetting it will not solve the problem. And no, there is no way to do it (from the front or anywhere else) AFAIK besides disconnecting the power to the appliance.

F1 on most Jenn Air ranges usually indicates a problem in the electronic control or the control keypad. It is sometimes possible to determine which is the cause by disconnecting one from the other to see if the error returns. If the error DID return even with the keypad disconnected, the control would likely be defective and need to be replaced.

If the error did NOT return while the keypad was disconnected, the problem would usually be assumed to be in the keypad in which case the keypad or whole control panel (depending on how the keypad was sold) would usually have to be replaced.

I have heard that keypad failures can sometimes be cured (at least temporarily) by drying them using a hair dryer, etc. If not, it would likely need to be replaced to permanently correct the condition.
