: We have a Magic Chef gas stove. I cannot get
: the area around the burners clean. I have
: tried just about everything. The top is
: cream colored and it is really becoming
: discolored. After the first day we had it,
: it started to discolor. We've had it about 2
: years now. Any suggestions?
Other than using regular household or mild abrasive cleaners (like linked below from Whirlpool), I don't think there is much that can be done. You may have to replace the top or install drip pans to cover the affected areas (if not used on your model already).
The cause may be that the burners are sitting slightly too low in relation to the cook top panel in which case any replacement parts you install would likely eventually discolour as well unless corrected. In such a case the burner height may need to be adjusted (if possible) or the burners replace in extreme cases if necessary.
