F0 on that brand usually means a stuck function key in the touch panel in which case it will usually have to be replaced. The $400 you paid previously must have been to have it installed also (and maybe some other parts as well), that part alone is usually less than $150.

Are you certain only the touchpad was replaced previously? Considering the approximate price of the part, that would make the labour charge sound fairly high to me. Did you have an authorized Magic Chef (Maytag) service agent do the previous repair?

If the one you had installed previously is less than a year old, it should still be covered under the manufacturer's replacement part warranty. In which case a replacement part should be no charge and you'd only be responsible for the labour to have it installed.

Good luck, I have just replaced the touch panel for the third time on a Magic Chef 3882XRA and after two weeks, I come home to the dreaded F1 beeper. The part usually lasts almost a year, but this unit beat them all.

Are you certain that it is the keypad causing your present (and possibly previous) problem and not the electronic control itself? An F1 failure code could be either and replacing the wrong part is not likely to correct anything.
