: Upon checking the
: oven again, the oven got very hot and no
: error code came on. A fire was burning
: properly at the bottom of the oven, but I
: didn't use the oven then even though I let
: it burn for about 15-20 to watch to see if
: it worked fine. It did work fine then, but
: the next time I went to use it for
: baking...I set the temperature to 375
: degrees. As soon as it beeped to
: temperature, the F2 error code began beeping
: again and again every time I hit the
: stop/clear button. I had to shut of the fuse
: to stop the beeping and error code.
: What could be the problem now?
Depending on the actual design of your model, F2 could indicate a faulty oven sensor (or the wiring leading to it) or a faulty clock.
How long ago was the sensor replaced? If less than 1 year, it should be covered under the manufacturer's replacement part warranty if it is defective again. In that case, you would have to have the same person/company back to check it.
If longer then that, I suggest you contact an authorized Magic Chef (or Maytag as they own Magic Chef) service depot to check it.
If you want to delve into it yourself, the oven sensor should be about 1100 ohms when at room temperature. Of course, the cause of intermittent problems are the usually the hardest to track down, even for trained service technicians.
