: The problem is in the standard oven
: heat mode, the ignighter glows white hot, as
: it should, the burner lights for a moment
: but due to lack of gas pressure the flame
: extinguishes. In a mechanical sense, piping
: and gas orafice are unobstructed. I also
: noticed that when I closed and opened the
: cut-off valve located on the underside, the
: burner would light momentarily then go out
: again. The pipe for the oven burner
: terminates at a manifold which is
: electronically controlled, and also supplys
: gas to the broiler which operates normally
: with a correct flame. I would appreciate any
: help with this problem
Does the ignitor stay glowing the hole time? If not, there may be a poor or loose electrical connection somewhere. Sometimes the wires for the ignitor become brittle right where they enter the ceramic base. Maybe the connection breaks when that area heats up?
Since you said there are no obstructions in the gas line that could be causing the symptom, it could possibly be that the bake side of the bake/broil valve is internally defective in which case it would likely need to be replaced. I have heard of cases where the regulator in a gas range has produce intermittent gas supply problems.
: does anyone know
: of a website where I can get an exploded
: view schematic of this oven.
The site linked below has exploded parts view for many different makes and model of major home appliances.
