: The problem is the exhaust system while I
: am grilling decides to stop after I have
: been grilling for about fifteen minutes and
: then restart of its own accord after about
: ten minutes. Pressing the fan button when it
: has decided not to exhaust does nothing. any
: suggestions?
There could be a number of causes for that symptom. One is that the blower motor is overheating and cutting out on its internal overload protector.
This could be caused by the motor's vent holes (if any) being plugged with dust, dirt or grease but is more likely caused by tight motor bearings which would usually mean the motor needs to be replaced or repaired (if possible).
Another possible cause is a fault in its power supply. If the burner switch, fan switch or any contacts in the blower's circuit are bad, it could cause the circuit to the blower motor to open temporarily.
Lastly, if you own a Canadian model, it may have added thermal protectors that are cutting out prematurely. Does the burner continue to heat at full power when the blower fan cuts out?
If the blower motor is getting power but not running, it is likely defective and needs to be replaced. If it is not getting power when it should be running, its electrical circuit would have to be traced to see where it stops.
