roden gas stove service

tom -- Tuesday, 24 July 2001, at 1:37 p.m.

I have a Roden gas stove and the two large burners don't work anymore (they don't lit).
Where can I find service for this type of owen? I am in Canada.

Thanks, Tom.

It would likely depend on where in Canada you are actually located.

Roden is an Australian appliance manufacturer whose products were imported into the Toronto area by Boyd-Brown/Integrated Appliances Ltd.

If you contact them, perhaps they can recommend a service agent in your area.

Dan, thanks for the info. I am actually in Toronto. I called the company and they said they never heard about this product and therefore they don't service it. do you have more details about this? do you know somebody else that went through this situation?

I know for a fact that Boyd Brown (now Integrated Appliances) did sell those units for several years quite a while back (mid to late 80's). Maybe the people involved at that time are no longer with the company? You could try asking for contact information for one of the founding company members.

You could also try a local gas appliance service depot and ask them to check it out for you. There's a slight chance that if any parts are needed, something off a domestic model will work as a replacement.

Not specifically with Roden but there are other bastard appliances lines sold in North America from time to time. Many consumers end up holding the short end of the stick when the time comes for service.

As I said Roden is an Australian company, maybe you could try to find contact information for them directly. I haven't been able to find a Web site for them.
