magic chef gas range F7

brian h Kim -- Monday, 25 December 2000, at 8:07 a.m.

I have a Magic Chef model# 3468XTW (serial number 10598891k9) range with digital readout. It is sending me a F7 fault code. The code shows up several times a day even when the range is not being used.

HI,

An F7 is usually a stuck/sticking key panal ( the part you push against )

Some key panals are seperate from the clock assembly and can be replaced by themselves...and some key panals are all together with the clock assembly as a one piece part.

Hope this helps,
jeff.

p.s. I support M.A.D.D. please don't drink and drive.

As Jeff has stated, F7 usually indicates the the keypad is defective and must be replaced.

The good news is that on your model, the touchpad is a separate component from the electronic control and can be replaced separately.

The bad news is that a replacement touchpad is part of the control panel and is between $100-150 US ($160-220 in Canada). >8~{
